When domestic violence destroys your life – The story of Kefah!

Kefah got married when she was 16 years old. A year later she gave birth to a little girl “Faten”. Unfortunately Kefah’s husband was beating her, abusing her, refusing to work or spend money on the household. Kefah was beaten constantly, he used to catch her from the neck, lift her up and bump her head to the wall!

Before Kefah filed for divorce, she was hit with a slipper that had nails attached!

Kefah barely sees with her right eye. Her left eye is subject to removal because of the high pressure. Her left hand is weak.

Today, Kefah lives with her 16 years old daughter, has a nursing diploma and she is divorced. She receives 60 JDs from the Ministry of Social Affairs, she can’t find a job so clean cars and sells Kaak to support her daughter. She needs at least 100JDs to keep her right eye working and an operation to save her left eye! Her daughter is very smart and the first in her class.

As much as this story is sad as much as we know that we can empower Kefah. We will be posting the medical reports, medication needed and all the details so stay tuned.

Um Shady small business

We have been monitoring Um Shady case for 1 year, ever since she had hospital debts for her deceased husband to getting her son Shady back to school and much more. (Read story here)

The best way was to empower Um Shady was my opening a small business for her where she can do what she likes the most…selling!

So, thankfully with Ibdaa generous support, we managed to start a small business for her where she sells clothes, blankets and other accessories to the neighborhood. Below are some pictures.
